Halo Settles with German Retailer in Respect of Halo’s Intellectual Property Rights

6 April, 2016

Melchers GmbH & Co. KG (Melchers) has recently settled with the Halo Group (including Halo Creative & Design Limited, Halo Trademarks Limited, Halo Furnishings Limited and Halo International Holdings Limited, together HALO) in respect of the infringement of Halo’s intellectual property rights.  Melchers has confirmed that it will no longer be importing or offering for sale certain products which give rise to customer confusion or which are substantially similar in design to the concerned Halo’s products.

Melchers has further agreed that it will no longer use trademarks owned by the Halo Group in the course of trade in the European Union in relation to furniture.

The Halo Group takes pride in its dedicated design teams, and has a strong history of innovative design.

This matter was assisted by our German counsel, Richard Schloetter and Thomas Farkas from the law firm Wragge Lawrence Graham and Co LLP based in Munich.  We are grateful to Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP for their continued support on intellectual property enforcement matters.
