Essential skills

  • 5 years’ of experience (preferably global) as a qualified architect (preferably in the UK/Australia)
  • Capable of following a project from initial design stages through to its completion
  • Developed and tracked budgets previously
  • Competent in the use of 3D modelling software
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, lnDesign, Illustrator, Sketch-up and Microsoft Office
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills, prioritization and decision making skills
  • Outstanding written and spoken English, Cantonese/Mandarin preferable
  • Customer focussed
  • Gravitas
  • High energy levels and a can-do mentality
  • Thorough and meticulous, with strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel to China and other locations as needed

Key responsibilities

  • Work with lead designers to develop architectural design
  • Synthesise the project brief with instructions from stakeholders and Timothy Oulton Studio’s expertise
  • Work on projects from concept generation, schematic designs and FFE selection to installation
  • Intake project objectives and guidance from project stakeholders
  • Develop and improve project plans that integrate all functions
  • Contribute with technical insights, be the go to person for support on project designs, CAD Team and Project Managers
  • Responsible for preparing and tracking floor plans, elevations and other project documents including all correspondence, submissions and filing
  • Create technical and detailed drawings compete with dimensional data for engineering/manufacturing purposes and review for accuracy and conformance to drafting, applicable design, component weights and system standards
  • Prepare CAD assembly drawings to verify adequate assembly fit and function; construct the “materials & fixture” list
  • Analyse tender materials
  • Manage site inspections
  • Build strong, effective working relationships with the project team/ stakeholders
  • Support the supply chain and delivery procedure
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Manage providers of key, one-off products such as antiques
  • Set up and run effective meetings; facilitate communication across various platforms and achieve agreed project goals within set timelines
  • Generate alternative solutions to roadblocks in collaboration with the team; report to project principals on status and delays
